I teach IT to adults. One of the biggest stumbling block is file managment, particularly copying and moving. The fact that all folders look exactly the same is a big part of the problem.
If I could change the background colour or put in a background image or a large watermark in the bottom-righthand corner [as in Windows XP] and being able to change the folder's icon would be the cream on the cake. This would greatly improve my learners acquisition of this all important skill. And I would love to use it in my own everyday computer activities .
There are a number of programs out there but none of them work on all versions of windows [XP, Vista, 7, and 8] both 32 & 64.
Each of these programs have there own merits, but there is no consistent interface. This Folder Customization requests listed here seem just the sort of thing right up Stardock street.
Simple efective interface allowing the user a great deal of customization and control of their computer working environment. Perhaps adding a Stardocks sub-menu to the folder context-menu. Maybe listing: Colour, Background [image], Watermark, Icon. Of course once set the customized folder would need to show all its customizations in all standard window dialog boxes.
The first time I used Fences I knew I would always use it. I feel that if Stardocks were to create such a Folder Customization program it would be very welcome and a good seller.
Dear BriMercer, if you have already found a solution to the much sort after program, can you let me know.
Thank you, Julian Griffin
