Thanks, karmat..............I like Jim's widget but I prefer Mike's more compact version plus it goes well with the calendar and clock gadgets he made

Gadgets are damn near impossible to do anything with. The best solution is the above suggestion.  Sorry.

there is a reason for that.. its called "intellectual property", some of us "Gadget" makers would like to be able to TRY and make some $ back from all the hundreds (if not thousands) of hours spent on some of these gadgets.  And having it so that someone could simply go to "Builder mode" and do what they want with it (like making their own version), would be a real slap in the face to the creator.
