Join Stardock on our Social Media Groups

Over the past year or so, we have greatly increased our participation in social media.  It has become a great way to interact and communicate with customers, users, and pretty much anyone in between.  It’s also become another useful way of delivering news such as updates and new releases on Impulse, and another outlet for things like contests.

I never use them, either, but not so much because I've read bad things about them, but rather that I do not feel the need for online relationships outside of WC.  Nah, mrs starkers is the 'social networker in this household, though she does share interesting snippets and family news with me.

However, given many familiar faces would be on these WC pages at Facebook, etc, I will investigate them..

Be selective and wise in your decisions for who you are contected too. Most of those people are just all over the place and care very little about who they allow and such. Social networks can be used for a very professional means of contact; if it is used correctly!

I use them a lot - plus I'm married and have 2 kids. But I'm not out there to get into trouble. Just find better things and make friends and contacts for professional reasons. Others are not like this and you will find they are the ones with problems.

Also another very professional site is Linked In or that is http://www.linkedin.com/

Which allows people with about the same interest to find each other to share their ideas and works.

Also the new trillian beta 4.1 has a lot of better ways to keep track of these sites without being in a browser. I use this and trillian 4.0 to keep up with mainly my tweeter followings and the such.

I actually use these things a lot more than I used too. Due to the easy way of doing it in trillian 4.0 and 4.1 beta. Pictured here is 4.0

 

and here on my desktop where I can see everything and browse completely where  and what I want too.

Yup and we farm on FB together too. Actually theres quite a few WC' members on facebook. I generally play Farmville and Castle Age.

 

I too will check out the SD FB pages.

oh i love facebook-its cool so long as you are sensible with whoever you are in contact with. alas there are some weirdos but you come across weirdos in the street too   lol

Yeah, mrs starkers likes the farm game.  I don't see the fascination in it myself, but if she gets pleasure from it I guess that's all that matters.  However, Castle Age might be more my style... being I love Medieval stuff n' all.  Perhaps I shall give it a look.
