Ok, so I regret this now, and probably shouldn't have done this to begin with. I put windows 7 on my alienware laptop, but I still wanted to have the alienware skins to make it look cool. I wasn't betting on it working, but I used the AlienGuise theme manager (Stardock DesktopX/MyColors) and it changed everything except the taskbar(cause 7's is so different I assume). So I told it to reset the default vista theme, and for the most part that fixed everything. The major problem is, that the hover colors for buttons are not the same, they are alien skin colors, and in 7, when you go to explorer, and click on a folder in the main window on the right of the file tree, there are icons in the bottom left of the screen that show up along with file info. Those icons are the only icons that are alienware icons, whereas the rest are all back to normal. I have tried clearing the icon cache manually, using command prompt, and even cleaning the registry. I have also isntalled icon packager and tried to restore defaults with that, and clear the cache. I still have not been able to resore these. Is there a way for me to restore all icons, themes etc. to windows defaults without reformatting? Is there a giant Reset GUI button without whiping my files?
thanks, sharf
