I loved vista! I never had a problem with it the whole time I was using it. Vista was fast, stable, and easy to tweak. I was only using about 500Mb Ram out of my 4 gigs using vista 64-bit. However, I had to do a lot of work to get to that point. Vista, like any other operating system, has its advantages and disadvantages. I thought it was a great operating system....maybe just not very user-friendly. I guess I could say it forced me to learn more about computers, and I'm thankful for that.

I upgraded to Windows 7 just because I was ready for a change. I like trying out new things......so instinctively, I had to.

I just got Vista about a month ago, and it's working fine.  Because I just bought my laptop a month ago, I'm entitled to a Win7 upgrade, which I've registered for, but it takes a couple months after the release to receive the disks; when they arrive, I will upgrade to Win7, but I'll probably sit the upgrade for a while, since I'm pretty happy with everything I have installed right now and don't want to go through all the hassle of reinstalling my programs. (I don't have an external hard drive or anything to backup my data to).

Why wait...there are no bugs in Windows 7 it's the best OS I've had the pleasure to use.

I was pretty happy with Vista, especially after service pack 1.  The I started using the beta of Win 7 and I noticed how slow Vista was for file copying and other stuff.  When I started using Win 7 RC for stuff more than Vista, I knew I was gonna upgrade ASAP!

Karen, get yourself an external backup drive!  You won't regret it 

You can use LapLinks Windows 7 Upgrade Assistant to re-load all your software and settings!  I went from Vista 32 bit to Win 7 64 bit and aside from a few programs (mostly games) everything has been working fine!  All of my web links and email were accesable right after the move! (No, I don't work for Laplink, I just love the time I saved not having to install over 100 programs)

I've used Windows Vista for going on a year now (got my new laptop back in June '09) and for the most part, I don't mind it at all. There are some very annoying quirks in the system that make me want to go back to XP but then I think about some of the features and abilities I'd lose and I stick with Vista. I wish I had W7 but I don't have the spare change for it right now.

Not to mention, I just recently reinstalled Vista and I don't really feel like going through THAT again any time soon.

It wasn't so much that I hated re-installing everything, it's just that I dual boot Vista and Kubuntu, and screwing around with the partitions and boot loaders complicated things greatly for me.
