"When the country is at war we need to be ready to do whatever needs to be done to win..." said Dick Cheney in an off -the -record interview with right-wing members of the National Guard Leadership Comittee that met the day after the last national election. The National Guard was the center of a major controversy, pre-election, in which they were said to be covering -up- big- time for young George W. Bush. The latest block of documents reveal a plan to have the 'wonder boy', as Cheny refers to President Bush, elected for a third term, ala FDR. The recent constitutional shake-up in California by Republican governor Schwartznegger, to have the ban on non-American-born citizens running for President lifted, was a ploy to put in place the motion to let Bush run a third -term-campaign, according to the documents. Many of the president's top cabinet members reportedly threatened to resign if the Bush team followed through on the plan. Right?
"The people of America are not fools," said chief political advisor Karl Rove. " and they know how to have the president they want elected. It's called hard work where I come from."
"Nevertheless, in four years I could see the people demanding another four more." said Cheney as he left the meeting held outside of Cheyenne. He refused comment about his alleged role in the removal of two of the nation's top news personalities.
"It's news to me." he quipped as he disappeared into a large limousine loaded with National Guard types.
The president was in Canada for the last two days, and that added to the mysterious atmosphere of things here in wintry Wyoming. As the innaugaration plans (said to be one of the most secretive one ever planned..Wash.Post) are being made and become known, one wonders why he would choose this time to travel. It's like, you know, gonzo stuff all over again. Canadians (or-ennes) have always been somewhat strange to begin with, and that compounds the already strange events here in Cheyenne, which is a strange name for a city, speaking of 'strange'. Admittedly, nothing said here is anything more than commentary on rumors and hearsay...but it does make you think about the 'next'. election, only three years and three-hundred and thirty-three days away.
