Default xp icons

HI there,

 

I would really appreciate it if anyone had a theme with the standard xp icons, I can't seem to find one anywhere.

haha no.

 

I am fixing up a friends computer and he had changed his icons to a vista type style but without iconpackager but he now wants to put back to the default xp icons so i was wondering if there was a .ip file anywhere out there with all the standard xp icons.

Okay, makes sense now.  How did they change the icons, with a program or just going to the internet?

Unless they modified the default icons shouldn't they still be on the computer?

Have you considered using the Restore Function and going back to before they were modified?

How, with another software that will not undo changes, by hacking DLL files. May require a format and reinstall of XP to get them back.

The key here maybe how the friend 'changed' the icons.  Do we read changed as modifiied or replaced?

yep - depends on how they were changed

 

if running iconpackager - try the xp default option / try repair-restore option

 

if it doesn't work

 

google 'tweakui' and or 'tweakxp'
