I've only been using the customizing software of Stardock for a few years, not as a skinner but as a user. In this short time you can see the emphasis of support swing from customizing to games. Maybe games were always the emphasis of Stardock, I don't know.
Now this is not meant as a 'Lets flame the gamers' or 'Lets flame the customizers' thread. I'm really interested in learning what is the current and future plans of Stardock in supporting both gamers and customizers. Heck, there may be things in the future for Stardock that the community isn't even aware of.
I'm not a 'youngster' and understand that change is the only constant in the universe. I'm also not here to 'Whine' and say things like 'You promised an upgrade'.
The one observation that I have made in the short time here is that Gaming was here before and won't go away if Stardock changes it emphasis. On the other hand, and this probably will get some discussion going, before Stardock there really wasn't PC customizing, especially in the way their software doesn't mess with the OS. If emphasis goes away from customizing software and programs at Stardock I beleive that the community will cease and go away. Yes there are other programs but for some reason I don't see them filling the void that would be left.
I've been known to be wrong lots of times in my life, sure hope that this is one of them.
So what's your thoughts here community? I'm not looking to tell Stardock what they should or shouldn't do, that's up to them and thier business plan. I'm just a subscriber to things like ObjectDesktop Ultimate and WinCustomize and would like to know where things are heading in the future.
I hope I haven't offended anyone, but if I have I apoligize.
