Nah, rain takes all the fun out of procrastination.... pray that it's sunny so you can procrastinate in a banana lounge over a few pina colada's

i was going to post a reply and thank everyone for thier thoughts on the subject of procrastination, but I think I'll wait until tomorrow.

You know what....this is entirely the wrong way to look at things.  Somebody invented the word "procrastination" because they were agitated and needed something to calm down before that something was invented, and they made the word up to belittle somebody they thought they had power over, who happened to be "enjoying the moment".  See?  Procrastinating and "enjoying the moment" are the same thing, it's just holds different intonations depending on whose not particularly doing anything and whose irritated by that person's ability to not be agitated.

Being a somewhat moody person *cough-bipolar-cough*, I have learned that things get done when they need to get done.  if they don't get done, then those things weren't necessary in the first place.  I'm a bit peeved about the fact that "the church" invented clocks because God needed prayers on a very regular basis, and in the process ruined a perfectly pleasant lifestyle of getting up when one felt like it, feeding oneself when one felt like it, and sleeping when one felt like it without the tyranny of time pressures (not to mention the pressures of maintenance of an eternal soul, for that matter).  

After "being there" for friends and loved ones who have gone through tragedy, I've learned that procrastination isn't a "bad" thing, because what is really important, showing love to our family and friends, enjoying them while they still live, is the only thing that really matters.  The messy rain gutters don't mean a thing, when one realizes their loved one's lives could be gone in an instant.

Personally, I think procratinate is a word that politicians invented to conceal their ineptitude to get things done... to gloss over, sweeten the broken promises; "Oh look, we're still procrastinating about that one... but, but, but, it's still on the table.

And then it comes back to... never do today what can be put off 'til tomorrow.

Unfortunately, bankers didn't procrastinate... they just took the money and run.  And now we have politicians procrastinating as to whether they rewrite currencies to make the bankers ill-gotten gains worthless.

Again, it comes back to... never do today what can be put off 'til tomorrow.. 

On a serious note, I admittedly procratinate when it comes to chores like mowing lawns and gardening, etc  I have arthritic joints and spinal issues that can sometimes interfere with these chores, so yeah, I do procrastinate and think: "Oh well, tomorrow's another day." 

Sadly, sometimes, tomorrow comes and I feel no better or mobile, so the procrastination continues until the encroaching jungle obscures the view from my study window.. 

Actually, it's getting a bit that way now... so I'm procrastinating once again... as to whether I ask my son to do it.

I sure did put off reading this thread for quite some time.

 Hehehehe, seems the Stardock folks are knee deep in it, procrastination that is.  A new Impulse Weekly came out and not a bit of customizing software news.  (See how I did that?  Why not give it a try.)

Never put off until tomorrow what you can put off indefinitely.
