I have 2 Ideas for Fences:
Auto-Hide Fences:
Hide the fences after x minutes with the icons, so that only the name of the fences where displayed on the desktop. MouseOver over the Name will open the fence with the icons and autoclose when the mouse ist outside of the name or fence
Auto-Hide whole desktop:
Hide the whole desktop (the same like double klick) but after x minutes. Double klick will display all the fences
