IconPackager not changing media file icons in VISTA

Hi all, I was just wondering if anyone knows why iconpackager won't change my media files icons? I have IP 4 and vista home premium.

I have tried installing a package and applying it, and have also then gone into icons and cursors and tried to indiviadually change the icons. In the icons and cursors part it shows the new icon, however in explorer it has the same old WMP icon.

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

A) Is it Vista 32 or 64 bit?

 

B ) Have you tried the three repair setting buttons at the bottom of the Settings / System Settings page (Rebuild Icon cache, Repair shell icons & Repair Icon Images)? This usually fixes 80% of my issues with missing and/or corrupt icons.

 

C) Have you tried other icon themes, to rule out that your current theme isn't broken/corrupt?

 

D) I don't really have a D, but it just seemed there needed to be one...

This may be if you've selected the "Chose default program" option in the "Open With" item in the file properties (right click menu)... You will see the default icon that used by selected program in this case.
