I'm currently trying out the free version of Bootskin for Vista and I'm impressed. I will certainly buy the full version when available for its Create and Upload functions. However I notice that the applied skin appears only for the duration of the replaced Microsoft load bar. Then a few seconds of blank screen followed by the Windows logo with jingle is displayed. Is it possible to extend the display of the applied bootskin until the Logon screen appears? Is this a Stardock or a Microsoft issue?
A lot has to do with your hardware though. On my PC, my bootskin is the same as my logon (is the same as my wallpaper) and the transition is seamless.
I'm using a Dell Inspiron 1525, Vista Home Premium 32 SP1. My transition from logon to desktop is seamless but I'm getting the blackout and Microsoft symbol between bootskin and logon screen. Guess I'll have to wait for Windows 8 ( did I just say 8? where is my mind, I meant to type 18). Many thanks for your help Zubaz. Bootskin Vista still gets my thumbsup.
