I just checked the product page to make sure.  I didn't see anywhere that it is compatible with Vista, I could have missed it.  Can you post a link where you saw that statement.

I'm on XP and uss WindowsFX, works nice.  I believe I have read that work is being done to make a Vista compatible version but don't quote me on that.

I'm on Vista and was a bit disappointed to find that WindowFX will not work with my OS. Additionally, the Requirements also indicate XP/2003. Further reading also talks about 48 x 48 graphics, something Vista does not have.

Although I would pose this question, how many software programs indicate they run on XP and run just as well on Vista. If a Suite package of $69.95 is made available, then make all of the applications available, otherwise indicate that they don't run on a specific OS. It's like buying a car with only three wheels. Looks nice, has a great stereo, gets great gas mileage, but doesn't go where you want it to go. Why? It's not a complete car.

In most cases I think you'll find it comes down to people being misinformed or assuming too much when making a purchase.  By your own example of a 3 wheeled car.  No one actually goes out and buys a 3 wheel car unless that's what they're after.  Most, if not all people first make sure it has all four wheels, and that everything else is in place and in complete working order, and that it has all the features and doodads they may want.

It should be likewise with software.  To go out and buy a software package before ensuring that it'll run on one's system is silly. Inspect the item before purchase, pore over its features and requirements to avoid disappointment.

It's not rocket science.

It probably could be a good idea for Stardock to make the OS requirements even more visible so as to avoid getting abuse and complaints from disappointed or disgruntled customers.
