geramsam,
If I undersand correctly this a theme you downloaded vz one you made. I am new to skinning myself, just started 2 weeks ago but to me it looks like something in the pressed image or rather the text of the pressed image is not aligned the same as the other images. each button has several states for normal, mouse over, pressed etc... perhaps whoever made the skin has something misaligned and did not notice (extremely easy to do). I personally have not gotten to that particular area of my own first skin but might be able suggest a fix.
download and install the free version of skin stuido, open the skin, at the lower right of the app will be a button for copy or edit, make a copy of the skin and rename it (this way if you screw it up no harm no foul), then open your copied skin in Skin Studio.
once you have that navigate here in Skin Studio:
1. Edit Controls (left pane)
2. >> Edit Menus and Menubars (mid page), this will open a smaller window on top of the app)
3. >> Menu Bar Items (notepad Etc..) (this will be in the left pane of the new window)
4. >> Text tab....here you will see a layout like the image below.
5. under the "state to modify" drop down menu choose "active pressed"
6. in the lower right you see "some text" . to the left of that is the margin adjustment, (the T, B, L, R spin boxes T = top, B = bottom etc...) play with those, make a few adjustments and then click the "apply" link which is just above the text tab.
if that doesn't do it play with the paint margins tab.
Personally I see you options for the skin as...discard it, or if you really like the skin, deal with it or learn how to edit it.
Good Luck and look at the bright side. even though it may seem like a lot of work, it may spark an interest in making your own skins. It really only takes a few days to begin understanding what is needed. the difficult part is learning image software like photoshop or an advanced paint program. If you already know photoshop you already have what it takes.
