B&W forever

Just watched The Bishops Wife for the first time with the wife.  Wonderful film.  Worth a rental.

 I like both the old BW's and the color versions.  I have a bunch of old BW's(John Wayne mostly).  I origionally thought Ted Turner was an ass for coloring the old standards but I've since changed my mind.

ah thats one classic holiday movie i dont mind watching time and time again..ive already watched it 266 times -some were shown on non holidays lol. B/W is best. i saw a color version, but it really killed the whole feeling of what a wholesome family classic movie should be.

I like B&W for original movies.. but not so much for newer movies, like Schindler's List , though the movie might be good, the lack of color would stop me watching it.

Having grown up before color televisions were available (I was about 10 years old before we had one) watching the old movies in their original format brings back great memories.  I remember watching the Wizard of Oz and my mom telling us that everything was in color after Dorothy opened the door of her house after it landed in Oz.  Eagerly awaitng that part of the movie, when she opened the door I still remember being disappointed when the yellow brick road was still grey.  Ah, but that's what imagination is for
