Ok I have been up and running Vista Ultimate 64bit for just under a week and it is much better than 32bit was. I highly recommend to anyone thinking of taking the plunge. I have had no trouble at all although not all software is available in 64bit most of what I use works fine so far. I have chosen 64bit wherever possible though. iTunes, all Stardock software. I love it. Why computer makers don't install 64bit from the factory and force upgrades is beyond me the benefits are well worth it.
