Hello there!
I'm new to these forums, but not to the internet and forums in general.
I've searched quite a bit on this site for answers to my troubles, but haven't been able to find an answer that works in my case, and I'm hoping some developers or experienced users might be able to help me troubleshoot this issue.
I've been having a recurring problem with my browsers freezing up when loading pages with javascript. These pages include, but aren't limited to Facebook.com, photobucket.com, and gmail.com. Opera, Firefox, and IE7 (all current versions) all do this. I have tried loading the pages while having OB offline, and the pages load just fine, fast, and correctly;however, when I load them with OB running (executed before opening the browser window), the pages load most of the way, and then freeze. The status bar at the bottom of the pages are frequently stuck on the status of "transferring data from www.urlhere.com..." or similar.
I do not have any yahoo toolbars currently installed in these browsers (after reading about that issue, I tried it and it didn't solve the problem).
I'm at a loss of what this could be. It seems to be an issue with javascript loading in the browsers. Other HTML/CSS/XHTML based sites load perfectly fine and have no troubles. It is only when a javascript heavy site loads that the browser hangs up and I have to force the program to close.
Does anyone have any idea of what I could change in a setting or in a boot order, etc that might help with this issue? I love objectdock and would really like to continue using it, but if it keeps locking up my browsers like this, I'll be forced to choose between internet and objectdock, and the obvious choice is, of course, the internet.
Just some info on my system and versions:
All currently updated versions of Opera, FF, and IE7.
Objectdock v 1.9 build 536
Computer specs:
Windows Vista 32
Toshiba built hardware
4GB RAM, two dimms (yes, I know I'm not using it all
)
Core 2 Duo, Centrino build
Any other info you might need, just ask. I would really like to solve this, as I said. I love objectdock and would hate to see it go.
Thanks!
