Corrupted Taskbar

Taskbar Missing

I have a corrupted version of Objectdock. For some reason the XP (Pro) Taskbar started to disappear after booting up. I tracked it down to when Objectdock loaded at Startup. I disabled it and found the Taskbar didn't disappear any longer. I'm not certain exactly which OD component is corrupted but I thought I'd uninstall OD anyhow and re-install it. I can't however find how to uninstall OD. I don't want to entirely remove the folders and registry entries - there are a great deal but I could do with the help of Registry Crawler but I could miss some - I'd rather uninstall it correctly and start again. So Stardock, do you not provide such an uninstaller??

generally:

If ObjecDock was installed as a standalone it would be in the add/remove unless:

it got picked up by either Stardock Central or Impulse, then you would use SDC/Impulse to uninstall it

either way, I suggest backuping any themes, backgrounds, png, icons, etc and saving your theme and backing that up, prior to uninstalling

Stardock has The Zapper which will remove all traces - I highly suggest you back up what you want to keep first

I don't know if The Zapper is set up for Object Dock, but I don't think that it is. Likely Bichur is right about it being installed by Stardock Central or ImpulseGo to start > run and then copy this into the command line:

%userprofile%\local settings\application data\stardock

It will open a file folder. Delete the ObjectDock one. Be sure to save your theme before doing all of this.. Before removing it though you can clear the cache (after backing up theme files and icons).

don't know if the Zapper can find ODock+, but ODock Free is in the Zapper's list (I checked 1st)

Thanks gentlemen. Objectdock is not standalone. There are a number of other Stardock products on my machine. I've never heard of the Zapper so, as suggested I backed up what I considered the important folders/files and wiped the Objectdock folder, files and all registry items (close on two hundred) with Registry Crawler (a very useful tool but dangerous in the wrong hands). I downloaded and installed a fresh copy of Objectdock and the problem of the disappearing Taskbar has now gone. Thanks for all your suggestions.

I'd still like to know if anyone else has had this problem and what could have caused it. It was definitely isolated to Objectdock. I ran a number of various virus scans and spyware utils but nothing was detected.
