Photoshop CS4 and Windowblinds?

I downloaded the trial of photoshop cs4 to play with, and was trying to test out it's gpu acceleration. But with this feature on in Photoshop, the window borders of windows that are behind the Photoshop window sort of bleed throughwhen I right click. It doesn't do this when I set windowblinds to use the windows classic skin.

I don't know if this issue has been talked about, or if anyone else has experienced it, a search did not pull up any results... not even sure  if i should be posting it in the support thread or what.

It's not a serious issue..I can always just make sure windows are hidden, but it's irritating none the less. I've updated my graphics drivers to the lastest version I could find as recommended by Adobe still the issue persists.

Anyways, thanks for any info that anyone has in advance.

 

Oh yeah..if it matters I have a ati radeon hd 2600xt. With version 8.10 drivers.

I and many others have had problems with Photoshop CS3 and windowblinds when the window is maximized. This may be a totally different issue, though.

Try reducing the size of the window (tile) and see if the problem persists.

That seems to work!

Well either that or setting WB to exclude Photoshop from skinning. Either way it seems to be fixed. Thanks for the reply!

Photoshop just doesn't seem to play well with Windowblinds

 

I'm not sure if it's anything Stardock developers can fix or if Adobe is at fault. Anyway I'm glad to hear this "fix" works for you

Sadly, I have to take back what I said about it working.

For whatever reason it was fine last night after you suggested it, but today the same thing is happening again.

Edit: I think it probably has something to do with both of the programs/interfaces interacting with the gpu and not playing nicely together. At least I thought that windowblinds now makes use of the gpu too?

My "fix" was never to use photoshop maxed. Tile the window and then pull the sides out to fit the screen. If that doen't work, then I'm sorry

 

I'm hoping developers see this thread and we can get some feedback on this issue

Well it only happens for me in CS4 with gpu acceleration on. I've never had such an issue with CS3.

My computer is giving me attitude and playing games with me. Today the "fix" works.

I found a solution...though I wouldn't exactly call it a fix becacuse you shouldn't have to limit functionality to fix a problem.

The fix is easy enough: check the 'Never use per pixel borders on a skin.' option in the system info screen.

It sounds like it may be a bug in the video drivers.

Does the same thing happen if you launch a desktopX gadget or ObjectDock and have that under the Photoshop window?

Nope, objectdock worked just fine. Well..the dock had trouble deciding it should be ontop of other windows, I don't know what causes that, either.

This is my solution also. Although, I didn't do it for that reason. I have never had any problems with WB and Photoshop CS3 or CS4. I run CS3 on my pc. CS4 on my laptop. I have always tiled my windows, so I have had no problems.
