Why is Wincustomize the slowest site to load pages or is this just a frustration factor to induce subscription sales?

nope. They are working to resolve the issue. Don't forget that the site is very graphics rich.
I'm finding a significantly faster load with Opera 9.61....fyi.
Some days it lighting fast and some days is really slow.

WC is due for a complete rewrite for next year which should make it a lot faster.

It's not the graphics that is the issue.
It's something to do with the way the database is interacted with.
