Loading SDMCP without Installer

Hello all,

I'm a lover of portable application, especially since I'm using a computer that will revert back to it's previous state after restart. Because the state of the XP reverts back each restart, I would need to reinstall SDMCP each time I restart.

Since I only see 3 files in the SDMCP (SDMCP.exe, MCPCore.dll, and MCPStub.dll), I believe that's only the files that need to be loaded to enable SDMCP. I have tried to load both of the dll using regsvr32, but still failed. I also realized that the tray can work without the need to restart after installing SDMCP, but I don't want to install SDMCP each time I restart my PC. Therefore, instead installing SDMCP, I want to create a script that would load SDMCP each restart. Can someone please enlightened me on how to load the SDMCP manually?

I'm using 1.5. I have problems with 1.9, and 1.9 has no option for normal layering of the dock. 1.9 Also needs Explorer.exe as shell so it can show screenshot of the minimized Windows. In short, 1.9 gives me problems or compatibility issues to my work behavior that, I think, will not be fixed. All I can do is waiting for version 2 and hoping everything will be good, or go back to 1.5. And since I'm tired and quite pessimistic of waiting for the new version, I went back to the 1.5.

So, could you help me to load SDMCP without installer, Zubaz?

I only need to create a batch file that will load SDMCP and then load ObjectDock. So, when OD is loaded, SDMCP is available for OD.

Gary's question is more about where the batch file would live that you would call. On a USB stick?

I think, I could register it using MCPCore. I must have made a mistake before, silly me.

No, Zubaz. I have another partition that is not persistent or will not be reverted on restart. The one that reverts back after restart is only the OS.

I have a feature request for OD2 in the future. Feature so users are able to hide unwanted systray icons. For a reverence, check out http://www.xdesksoftware.com/systrayx.html - with SystrayX, users could easily hide and access the hidden tray icons, so the dock containing the systray can look good. SystrayX and OD are compatible, but SystrayX depends on explorer.exe. Users that do not use explorer.exe as shell cannot use SystrayX. I noticed that there is a docklet tray, but in my opinion the docklet is not as tidy as the original tray feature from OD Plus.
