Internet Docklet lost connection to default browser

The Internet docklet in my ObjectDock installation lost its link to my default browser. I've switched between Firefox 3, IE 8 and Google Chrome as defaults and it has always detected the default browser and loaded it without a hitch. Now when I click on the Internet docklet, I get the following error message:

Windows cannot find 'Internet.' Make sure you typed the name correctly, then try again."

Is there a setting I need to adjust or do I have to point the docklet manually to the browser executable? I haven't had to do that before, which tells me something is wrong. Thanks for the assistance!

Here's the easiest way to open your chosen browser.

Drag a shortcut of the browser to the dock.

Change its icon/name to anything you want

First thing I would try is to drag/remove it from the dock then add it again.

I know I can drag the shortcut to the dock but that defeats the purpose of the default docklets which should open your default browser regardless of what it is. I'm evaluating three browsers and the Internet docklet made it easy to work with them because I didn't have to change the shortcut, just the browser in Vista's Default Programs section.

I've twice removed the shortcut from the dock and added it again but it didn't fix the problem. Something has happened to the docklet, either a registry change or setting of some kind. I'm hoping the kind and wise people in this forum can help me out. Thanks for your suggestions - I'm grateful for your time!

If you really want to solve this problem you're going to have to try something new. Try de-installing Object Dock, running a registry cleaner, rebooting and then re-installing Object Dock. You may have a buggy Docklet installed or other problem that will have to be cleaned out.

I would tend to agree here. However Object Dock is totally customizieable. In the end yes the default docklet should launch but I myself have both IE, FF, and the new google browser all linked into my dock. I would recomend more customization since the sky is the limit really.
