WB 6.3 build 67 x86

Lag deleting files

I just noticed after I updated to WB 6.3 build 67 x86 -- 6.29a[rc].165, that when I delete files, it takes a bit for the dialog box to show that it is deleting them, then blanks out white, then disappears. Its like something is holding it back. Anyone else having strange deleting problems/graphic anomolies??

There's a new release build out (6.30.094) give it a try and see if you still have issues

Version 6.30.094 has the same issue. Fresh reboot, fresh install, etc.

I can easily re-create this by tossing about 3 files on the desktop, selecting them all, then delete. It deletes 1, pauses for 3 secs, white rectangle appears upper left of the screen where the delete dialog box would be. 3 more seconds, it starts to delete the next 2 files. Then the dialog finishes appearing, and finishes the deletion. Its about a 9 second process. When I do not have WB loaded, using default skin, it deletes files immediately.

Something is still hanging up the process and had same results on 3 computers so far.

Just tried recreating here. Three large files 32mb being the smallest and the timing was just an second.

What other preograms are running? nview is known to have issues with Windowblinds as relates to Explorer.

I only see 2 that I think "may" have any effect......you might want to start a ticket at support.stardock.com

 

tivonotify.exe likely has a hook into the desktop

 

This one is a known malware ........viewpointservice.exe

Ah did not notice that program, yep that one was a malware thingy, thank you

Although, I did find the culprit and wasnt that one. Apparently, Super Ad Blocker program (www.superadblocker.com) seems to have an issue with windowblinds. As soon as I exit'd out of the program, I was able to delete multiple files without a problem! Sucks though that I have to not enable that, as it is a godsend to use for internet browsing for banners, popups, etc. Is there a way to get around that for compatibility or maybe you can check out the program??

Maybe if you exclude that program from being skinned that would help -

Open the WindowBlinds Configuration screen and click on the Settings tab. Select "Change the look of an app" tab and then "Add per application setting". Locate the exe for the program you wish to exclude and select it. In the screen that appears put a check mark in "Ignore this application and do not skin it". Click OK and that should do it.

I am also having significant troubles after today's update. On my screen I am seeing the XP default skin. However going to "Display/Properties/Appearance" I am shown that WindowBlinds is installed and that my selected WindowBlind is selected and operational. However the WindowBlinds icon is NOT appearing in my System tray.

When I select WindowVBlinds (the application) I am only told that I will have to reboot and disable antivirus applications, etc. However, the installation of the latest version of WB this morning was through Stardock Central and I received no alarms from my antivirus application (ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite.) I have now rebooted three times and the situation hasn't cleared up. I can't/won't disable my antivirus application for WindowBlinds.

I am operating XP Pro.

Well I did add "SAdBlock.exe", "SABSVC.exe" and "SAUpdate.exe" to the exclusion list. It didn't do anything to the way it handles deleting files with the graphic refresh. As soon as I shutdown SuperAdBlocker, deletions work fine. Something between SuperAdBlocker and Windowblinds just doesn't like and can't get it to work.

Just FYI, I use IE7Pro (free!) for Internet Explorer and Adblock (free) for Firefox.  They are in-browser plug-ins and work flawlessly IMHO.
