Hey,
Firstly I'd like to thank you for accepting me into this Fences Beta.
I have a little feedback that I'd like to share with you all, and also a little bug I discovered in the first 10 minutes of use.
Bug:
Add a small fence with enough icons to make a scrollbar appear. Then adjust the fence's size, making it slightly bigger (although still keeping the scrollbar visible), gives you a slight aesthetic bug:

Feedback:
I think Fences is a brilliant idea for organising desktop icons, but what I'd love to see in newer versions are:
* The ability to hide all desktop icons, except those located in Fences.
- One thing I was expecting Fences to do, that it doesnt, was that it lets me create fences, and I add icons to those fences, and there the only visible icons.
- I'm someone that doesn't have desktop icons, I prefer a much cleaner look. Fences adds a border around my icons, and gives it an organised feel. With all my desktop icons visible, and the only option is to show ALL or hide ALL, I have to reorganise my desktop folder, which isn't exactly the most convenient thing to do.
- There is the option to show certain icons and hide the rest, which does help, but I expected Fences to just give me an area, where I drop the things I want in, and open them with a click.
* Shortcuts, cleaner look.
- Another thing I expected Fences to do, was allow me to create shortcuts to anywhere I like, internet applications, favorite folders, etc. Yes, it does this, but Windows organises the icons that are shown, and due to that I get an ugly shortcut mini-icon.
- I think that Fences should be developed to organise and show icons via its own graphic rendering system, so shortcuts and desktop folders alike have a much cleaner look. With a local rendering system, there would also come skinning possibilities (see next idea)
* Skinning
- A great addition to Fences would be to allow users to create graphics that customize the application (think border images, corners, middle, title, etc.)
- With skinning could be the option to change icons for programs, much like ObjectDock allows.
* Icon organisation options
- At the minute, if I drag and drop my icons in a Fence, to reorganise the appearence of it, there is no realtime icon switching (like in objectdock). Due to that when reorganising shortcuts, files, folders etc. I can sometimes drop files INTO folders, or launch them with applications. (See my bug screenshot, if I were to move Documents up, I'd have to carefully position the icon between Computer and the Title while dragging, before I dropped. Otherwise my documents would move into Computers - I know that My Computer doesnt accept folders and files etc, but for the sake of example, lets beleive Computer to just be an ordinary folder).
That's all the feedback I have for the minute, if anything else crops into my mind, I'll be sure to let you all know.
Thanks,
Rob Jackson.
Tested on Windows Vista Ultimate, 32bit. Using ObjectDock, Serious Samurize, Custom sidebar program and the Windows Shell, and a custom msstyle theme.
