I developed a desktop replacement for my Vista (Home Premium) system a while back, using both DesktopX 3.5 and OD+ 1.9 elements. My taskbar replacement is made of mostly DX objects. When I first made the replacement taskbar, I used an OD+ dock to reserve the space for the new taskbar and all of its other objects. I have since removed the OD+ dock that was reserving the space (the bottom 72pixels of the screen), then I set the workspace via DesktopX to reserve the bottom 72pixels of the screen.
I'm now experiencing a 'dissappearance / flashing' of the DesktopX elements in this reserved space (the bottom 72pixels of the screen) whenever I open a new IE7 window. The Internet Explorer window (and all other windows - except Outlook 2007) will respect my designated workspace when I maximize it(them). While web pages are loading or refreshing, all of my DX elements (not my OD+ docks) disappear/reappear/blink, and the webpage content and bottom of the IE window appear where the DX elements should be, in the reserved space. It seems like when the webpage in IE is refreshing or loading, the workspace momentarilly reverts to max screen size, then right back to my reserved size, creating the blinking effect.
All of my DX elements are set to 'Always on Top'. I've tried setting some of them to 'Desktop' Level and still get the same thing. This blinking obviously looks like crap, so I've since made an 'empty', fully transparent, OD+ dock to reserve the bottom 72pixels for me. This works perfectly, but should not be necessary.
Any tips, common experience, or ideas?
Thanks!
