I don't own a car - haven't in over 20 years now - so I've been pissing on the oil companies and the revenue man for yonks, when it comes to paying for fuel myself... not to mention, repayments repairs, registration, tyres and general servicing.
I've always made sure that I live somewhere with a good public transport system - right now I can get either a bus or train every 30 minutes to anywhere I need to go - and when I need a car once a fortnight to get the groceries home, I pay for a $5.00 - $6.00 cab fare.
OK, so I'm paying a little more for fares these days, but not a lot, and food prices have increased some because of oil prices rising, but all in all, I'm still saving thousands every year by not owning a car.
Personally, I think this oil pricing thing is one huge rort/ a con job of gigantic proportions... and the revenue man is gleefully rubbing his hands because his share goes up with every fuel increase. So think about it... what is our/your government doing to help ease the burden on motorist struggling to meet ever increasing costs?
*** Oh, and Zubster, on another note, I'm feeling as gassy as ever!!
