Simple put on Vista x64 SP1 with Impulse (set to "Allow all" on the Firewall), I get the following message: "Downloading Impulse update - Connecting ...", even if I clsoe impulse it continues to run (hung in the background). Starting another copy hangs as well until the first one is manually (through taskmanager) killed. Restarting will allow it to work once in every 3 or so boots, but if it hangs I need to reboot. Also updates have about the same rate of hanging. I found this out as I tried to fix my previous issue with IconPackager, and the fact that version 3.99.146 of Iconpackager can only be gotten using Impulse, (3.99.144 is the lastest version from stardock central).
I would like more information as to whats, heppening during this connection, because I do not even have an idea where it is connecting to and the log entry:
-- [4/26/2008 7:02:26 PM] ----------------------------------------------------
Context: UpdateApplicationFileList: sds, odp,PublicBeta
Message: Server problem or connection issue
Exception: The remote server returned an error: (404) Not Found.
Is over 20 minutes and 3 reboots old, and has not yet been updated. By the way Impulse is perfrectly responsive while this happens, only the network portion is non-functional.
Again this does not allways occur, only about 2/3's of the time I try to use it, if Stardock central had the same versions as Impulse I would not have even bothered with it.
Thanks,
ERIC
