Turns out the Alabama problem from yesterday is really a problem with
whichever state is first. I had to go through a whole bunch of hoops to find
that out though. I even examined the mesh by hand and it looked perfect. Turned
out to be errant texture states. I've got to come up with a better way to manage
these. Maybe using StateBlocks.
I also tweaked all the meshes so that they don't produce errors during load.
Now we should have the final visual look of the map. Scott also pushed me onto
GalCiv2 more because PoliticalMachine is in good shape. When they need me,
they'll call me.

The rest of the day was spent arguing the merits of 5.1 dolby and doing
research into various parts of DirectX. I'd like to make a GUI engine in
DirectX. This will probably have to be a side project because we're pretty
committed to using our own internal libraries. It'll be fun to do anyways.
As soon as Brad gets back, we'll have more direction. Not that I don't have
direction, but I just don't feel the intensity that working on the demo brought.
There's a bunch of stuff still to do. I might as well just do it.
