Welcome once again folks, to the one show on radio that holds back nothing about the fact that we want BUSH BACK IN '04. We've got quite a night lined up for you all, and if you are even thinking just a little about voting for John Kerry then tonight's show is for you. Our first guest, Mary Plane, has a heartbreaking tale to tell about Kerry that I think is most interesting. Mary dated John back in the 60's, before he went to Vietnam, and although their relationship never got too far she saw a side of John that we here at 'W'BSH feel the rest of the country ought to know about a man claiming the right to be our next president.
Mary, welcome to the show.
MARY: Thank you, Vic. It's nice to be here.
Mary, tell us when it was that you and John were seeing each other.
MARY: Sure. It was in 1961, in the summer ,and John and I had decided to live separate lives because of who he was going to be.
That sounds so strange when you say that. "because of who he WAS going to be"
MARY: I suppose it does. We were both heavy into astrology back then and John would always find references to him being a world leader somehow in his daily horrorscope. The strangest part was at night when he somehow would transform himself into the way he looks today and start using all these words like 'gay' and 'choice' and words like that...and back then those words had no special meaning like they do now. It was kind of scary, especially when he would imitate that tall fellow from the Addams's Family television show. You know, Lurch was his name. "We've created a monster" he would say, over and over. "We've created a monster."
Speaking of 'monsters', one of ours, a sponsor is rattling its cage. Tha means we've got to take a break.
