SUMMARY:
I have seen many 'complaints' about CursorFX's choppyness. It's the same issue I used to have with CursorXP, using Vista. The program is not always set at "High" priority as it should be.
PROBLEM:
The problem is that, sometimes CursorFX is set at the wrong priority. (I don't have reproducible scenarios, but I'd say about 75% of the time when I boot up Vista)... Devs, you guys needs to test this more -- the bug exists on Vista SP1 x86 as well, which is what I'm using.
SOLUTION:
Manually set the priority to "High" in Task Manager.
- Just open Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc, or right-click Taskbar)
- Click the "Processes" tab
- Find CursorFX
- Right click CursorFX
- Set Priority -> High
- Note: You do NOT need admin rights to do this. You should NOT get any UAC prompts.
- Report your results via forum replies

I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling, using the public final 2.00 version. I still have this bug. If there's anything I can do to help test a solution, by all means, contact me. My email address is in my forum member settings.
Thanks for a great program, otherwise.
I'm using the ORIGINAL CursorXP ChaNinja Style RC5 Balloo theme, available here:
