I'm curious about the experience of others in the work force -- have you ever worked at a job where you didn't feel that your regularly schedule job review, the type of review that helps determine the increase in your salary in a given year, didn't feel like it was set up as a confrontation between the company and yourself?
In many companies it seems that you get a review where you are made to feel as if you are supposed to be defending the work you did throughout the year, and justifying why you should be getting more salary/wages because of the work you've done or will be asked to do in the coming year.
Have you ever worked somewhere without it feeling somewhat hostile between the two sides?
How does it feel at your current position?
