Without naming names and giving away too much information, I'm amused at the potentially delicious irony involved with someone I'm familiar with who would seem to be taking a position that puts them in a position of authority over people they were recently working for.

Just another sign that the employment world is a small world after all as the person I'm not naming here was recently working as a subordinate to the same people that would now be reporting back to them.  After several years of hard work and dedication to a former employer, things broke down between employee and employer and this individual went off to find themselves something different.  With just a few weeks of time between the first job and getting hired in this new position, it's obvious that others recognize the value of this individual.

I'm glad it seems to have worked out for them, and I wish them all the best in the new position.  It should be quite interesting to see how some meetings go in the future.  Quite interesting indeed.
