Leopard Dock doesn't look like preview

I'm using objectdock free, and I absolutely love all the the mac os x leopard skins that a bunch of you guys have made. But I have this one little problem. At the left and right edges of every leopard skin, when I apply it, the smooth line suddenly gets all chopped up and distorted. I can't figure out why this is, I just want it to look like the preview. I have my dock set to top of screen, don't know if it's that, or my screen resolution, or what. I can't figure it out! Anyone who can help, hint, or comment would be appreciated.

Who's version are you using...can you link to the download? That would help in recreating/diagnosing the problem. Off the top of my head, I'd say open the .ini file and find the backgroundtop settings. Find the Left and Right tags and set them for 20 each. Save the file, and re-apply the dock. See if that works and then adjust as necessary. Does that make a difference? How about OutSideBorder Left / OutSideBorder Right...set those for 20 and go from there.

Thanks for responding, I have tried every single leopard version on this site. I will try out the .ini file edit, and see if that helps. Some additional info: I also rotate the png image so that that the leopard dock image sits on the top of the screen as it would look if it were on the bottom. But, the left and right ends are also distorted before I rotate the image.

DOn't see a problem with that dock on my machine. Even rotated, as you do, it's still fine.
Is the dock ok before you rotate the image?
What program do you use to modify the image?

I just use the windows photo gallery rotate option. And no, the dock image is still messed up before the rotation.

Has to be something to do with your machine.
What OS are you running?
What's your screen resolution?
How much memory do you have?
What graphics card are you using?
Are the drivers for the graphics card up to date?

Dagnabit! I was just about to ask the same questions.

{and as an aside, I was in your neighborhood last week and looked in the phonebook at the Subway station on 59 but found no listing for "Koasati". ( }

OS- Vista Home Premium
Screen Res. - 1280 x 800
Memory - 1 GB
Graphics Card - Intel(R) GMA 950 (does that make sense? I'm not real sure on the card type.)
No idea if the graphics card is up to date, but the laptop is only about 6 months old.

I'm new to the forums, I know how to take a screenshot, but not how to post it. Could someone explain?

Here's the screenshot. The right imperfection is pretty obvious. The one on the left is hidden by the laptop icon. Some other leopard style docks are a little worse, some look a little better.

Acer Aspire 5570Z

My highest res is 1280x800, so I can't test 1280x1024, and my laptop is widescreen, so 1024x768 doesn't look right.

It is the left and right width settings, to create a tray dock it must have some perspective to image to look right, thus there must be width settings. This setting is the amount drawn as is, the area of image between is stretched. Since most create images at different sizes, no set rule, and people have different amounts of icons on dock, the amount of image that is stretched will vary from user to user. The best you can do is play with these settings to get the best look for your set-up.

15.4 and 14 widescreen laptops use 1280x800.

It is the wavyness that is the main issue, anything that is straight will stay that way and look right.

By looking at your screen shot, It would appear that you may have the "stretch background proportionally" check box checked. This check box appears on the "appearance" tab in the configure dock dialog.

I downloaded that particular Leopard dock and checked this box, and I appeared to have a similar problem. I have always used my Leopard dock with this check box left unchecked.

I'm wondering why you have the dock flipped upside down in the first place? Those tray zoomers are built to be the same top or bottom. (Icons sit on top of the tray) Just wondering.

Hey Mirsguy; I hate to give you this bad news but your leopard docks have the same issue. It is the wavy design that makes it a Leopard dock that causes this issue. There is no way around it.

I just like it sitting directly on the top of the screen instead of just kind of hanging in the air.

I see...but now your icons hang in the air...TSAElement made a nice 2d version too.
