First let me say I'm not entirely sure what category this question should have gone in because I don't know if would qualify as skinning, objectbar, desktopX or whatever.

I first looked up if there was a way to skin Office 2007 with no luck, I guess it just isn't possible. So then I thought about colorizing Office again no luck.

So then I had an idea (and if someone wants to go for it go right ahead):

Is it possible to skin the XP start bar (and all its functions) to look like the Office 2k7 ribbon?

Obviously the Office button would be the start button. Tabs could represent quicklaunch icons, right button menu commands, control panel shortcuts, and system diag. tools/metrics.

ObjectDock could get you very close I think. But I'm not much of a programmer so I don't know how difficult this would be to do overall.

I would add though it is something I wouldn't mind trying out.
