Should I Upgrade?

I have an Object Desktop subscription and also recently bought a copy of Cursor XP Plus. Is Stardock going to be giving me a free or lower upgrade price? Also, what benefits/features will I gain over CursorXP? Is this just a fix for incompatibilities with the Vista OS that I don't need?

I think Vista (32 bit) support is s big deal but below are the other features from the CFX page

I don't know if i want to upgrade or not as it uses WAY more cpu usage than CXP does but a discount for us owners is nice to know about

i haven't noticed any increase in CPU usage with CursorFX. it does use a little more memory but i have plenty to spare. overall cursor FX is a great improvement on CursorXP. can't wait until the finished version is released

CXP uses 686k on avg for me , CFX loaded it uses 18k-20k
Guess its more for Vista which i refuse to upgrade to for a few years

It was made with Vista in mind. Keep in mind this is still the beta and many updates are coming!

Seabass,

Newbie here again. I had CursorXP Free installed and then decided to buy the pro version, which I did. The confirmation email came with both XP Pro and FX. Like the novice I am, I installed both. XP Pro first over the free version, then FX. Well nothing has worked right since in the cursor department. I didn't even know they used different file extensions. Man this is a bit a learning curve with the OD Suite, ObjectDock and the cursor programs. I'm not one of these quick minded young genius'anymore. So I may need a lot of help on learning these programs. I have uninstalled Cursor XP and FX for now.

I run XP SP2, so do I even need FX, especially since , as you said, it's still a work in progress and mostly for Vista, or should I just install Cursor XP Pro and see how it works. Experienced opinions always welcomed.

I would suggest uninstalling everything and going with just FX.

The trials and the full versions will not play well together. FX works on both machines and has some more niffity new options to it. If you run into trouble after all this let us know at support@stardock.com.

ps- yes I said "niffity"

Kind of confused. I own CursorXP Plus but since, at least for now, am still on XPSP2 I can't see any reason for me to upgrade it to FX plus at this time. I already seem to have all the features listed in the FX plus version and would actually lose some features if go to plain cursorfx. Is there any reason at this time for XP os useres to upgrade from cursorxp plus to fx plus or am I better off just sticking with what I already have till I finally decide to upgrade to Vista?

Arguably no the updates are not a huge difference at this time. However keep in mind that FX is still undergoing multiple updates as we speak and there are a few added features. However if everything is working fine I am not going to tell you that you have to jump on the next best thing. I happen to be in support after all.
