Excellent review of one of my favorites. I own the whole Object Desk suite for my Win2k P3@450 laptop. Like you say, I can't live without it now. Same almost goes for IconPackager, TabLauncher, CursorXP Plus, and most of the other many components. A little trouble with DesktopX though, with freezing trying to launch objects imbeded in suites. Too bad, but still OK. DesktopX does slow things down a bit. I have to say that CursorXP is a real treat, too; and many icon packages are outstanding.
But, hey! Your article: It took me a while to get to it. Our of respect for your fine opinion on these topics, I felt compelled to read through all five of the pop-up-or-under windows that came with your link, so by the time I got around to WB I felt a little distracted. Not too much, I admit, since three of the five were identical. Now, that WAS a treat. Sorry I could not read the two pop-whatevers that launched in my taskbar but never displayed -- alt-F4 was all I could do on those.
Anyway, keep up the good work. Gems among the weeds, so to speak. Keep at it.
