you might uninstall and reinstall. could be an install bug if that dont work..

Normally the Administrator account is hidden from view. According to Microsoft documentation, it appears on the Welcome screen only in the following situations:
--No other administrative user accounts exist
--You start your computer in Safe Mode
--The Adminstrator account is logged on and you're using Fast User Switching
--In Windows XP Professional, if the Welcome screen is enabled, you can log-on to the "hidden" Administrator account by pressing Ctrl-Alt-Delete twice.

Windows XP Home Edition users can't log on using the Administrator account except in Safe Mode under all circumstances.

In Windows XP Professional, you can get the "hidden" Admin account to appear all the time on the Welcome screen by doing the following:

1. Open up a command prompt.
2. Open Local Users and Groups by typing: lusrmgr.msc.
3. Double-click the Administrators group and remove all accounts exept the one titled "Administrator."
4. Open the Users or Power Users Group and then click Add to add each of the accounts you removed.

One other possibility comes to mind: The default administrator account may have been renamed to something other than "Administrator." This may be the case if under the Administrators Group there is a single account not named "Administrator" but still having full Administrator rights. Some single-users do this if they are the only user of the computer, and have only that one account on the computer, and that account has full administrative rights. In theory, this would make it harder for someone up to no good to find the Administrator account.
