That's nice, make WB6 dig through all the folders known to man on your HD to look for photos to use as wallpaper and then don't give you the option to delete it in the interface. I thought wallpapers was added in because it gave users BETTER means of managing their wallpapers then display properties in Windows does. Too bad I still use Display Properties to change my wallpapers. Waste of resources to put that in I say....

WB searches 4 folders by default - you can deselect any/all of them in WBConfig by clicking on the little "tools" icon on the right in the Wallpapers section which brings up the folder selection dialog.

I agree an option to delete from within WBConfig would be a nice feature.

BTW, it sure would be nice if you stuffed your attitude, JRSCCivic98. Also BTW, DP now also pulls images from more than one location and, unless it is new to Vista, does not have a "delete wallpaper" function, so I'm not exactly sure what your beef is.

BarnBurner, JRSCCivic98 has a history here with the same attitude.  He's also been invited and encouraged to leave a number of times and has not availed himself to said invitations.

I think it's interesting in that he finds valid bugs and some issues that could use attention then taints almost everything he finds because his attitude sucks.  He's also beat a few issues so far into the ground that it's almost his tag-line fro older members who've seen his post over time.

It makes for a good lesson in what not to do.

I can only hope that the more positive and polite responses to his method someday rubs off and he'll be a more welcome member of this great site.

Actually, that's wrong. In Vista when you go to Desktop Background you can rightclick and get a full menu of options like you could with any other file. You can delete it, cut/paste, send to, whatever. I can't help it if people run XP and think the world is flat. Maybe that's one of the main reasons why a lot of WB6 running folks out there don't seem to find some of these WB6 issues as "anoying".





And yeah, BarnBurner, I wouldn't have a single problem telling anyone what I write here to their face. I don't use text in a way that doesn't directly represent what would come out of my mouth. I am a pleasant person to get along with, but when there's problem after problem and people don't want to change things for the better because "it's their way and not the customers", well, I think that's bad customer service. Customers dictate if a product will be successful or not. Without customers, there is no product. Granted, it's not an expensive product, but it's still not FREE so as far as I'm concerned I'll continue to bi*ch and complain all day long until the cows come home... or until I see a release that puts all these little quirks to bed. I mean, come on, how hard is it to have someone on staff that goes through all these things and realizes there's something missing? How hard would it have been to put a delete option in wallpapers. I for one was a person who boo'ed the idea of putting Wallpaper changing in WB when it first came out in WB5.x. I didn't see a need for it because frakly I always changed wallpapers through the Windows interface. Others argued that the scaling logic behind it was better in WB then it was in Windows, well, now with Vista I beg to differ even on that point. Case in point, it's a useless portion of WB which I don't need. With that said, if I do decide to use it later, it would be nice to be able to "manage" my wallpapers in that interface.... after all, isn't that why they built it in there? I don't know what planet you're from, but that seems like a valid point to me.

I will say this, I may be harsh and blunt when I'm passionate about a viewpoint and with some people I even have the repor of being an as*hole, but at the end of the day I really don't care. They get the point and hopefully change things. If they don't and depending on the situation I take it to the next level and keep pounding at it until it's finally resolved. This is what I expect from everyone and everything. You want to do something, great, do it... but do it right and do it well. Some of the things discussed here has been expressed several times before and it's always "Oh, yeah, we'll put it in on the next release", but when that happens "Oh, we didn't have time to do that or it was going to interfere with this or that". Bah, more excuses. Just do it. :swoosh:

Sort of. I see it more as making the noise so that everyone is aware of the problem. You know, kind of like shining a super big spotlight on it so that there's no misconception that it doens't exist because someone quietly asked and was quietly denied on the claim or the claim was validated, but will just be thrown out later.

he is entitled to his opinions, as is everyone else, regardless whether we agree with him or not. just because a few people don't like what he says or talks about is no reason to be showing him the door. Try not to get offended by what are no more than a bunch of words on your screen

I have tons of options... I'm not sure why you don't.

A right-click menu with "Remove from WB Config" and "Delete from Hard Drive" would be a nice feature.

Actually, my statement was absolutely correct, as you confirmed.

The wallpapers are housed in the windowblinds folder that was moved to the shared folder in drive C,you can delete em from there if no one has already mentioned it

Huh, so the long context menu (with delete) is only available in Ultimate? That's a kicker... wonder if this is by design?

Zubaz, how about just selecting the wallpaper and hitting del? Does that work on your version?
