What happens in Australia all the time is whenever somone gets killed, the family goes on TV and cries and all that jass and demands new laws.... so the government creates the new laws. This process happens over and over again until you end up with all manner of stupid safety related laws choking to death that ideal once upon a time known as freedom!

Litegation or fear of litegation is an entirely different monster, but it certainly does work overtime to destroy freedom as well. Right now, here in Australia, there is a case against involving a quadraplegic who dove off some rocks at the sea shore and wants to sue the local council for not putting warning signs. This quadraplegic goes on TV and the TV report naturally is biased to drum up sympathy for him, but the reality of the situation, is that he chose to enjoy his freedom and had a tragic accident. To be honest, i think the court should tell him to fxxk off from trying to sabatage the coastline of Australia with billions of warning signs!!

How did this quadraplegic managed to dive off the rocks?? Was nobody there to stop his wheelchair??

Just kidding, here in the Netherlands I sometimes have the feeling it's already too late and we have rules and signs for everything. Although we do live here a little bit crowded compared to you guys of course, so maybe it's necessary.
But for instance when I've been on holiday to the Alps it always takes some time to get this idea out of my head that you can kill yourself on any moment by just walking off the path and plummeting down the mountain. I keep thinking that there should be railings and ribbons and staff preventing you from possibly injuring yourself.
I'm not used to mountains as well of course..

That feeling is called self preservation.... seems like our governments are striving to take over the responsibility of this concept from the general population. Along with the concept of right and wrong - since right and wrong have been replaced with legal and illegal.

See, we don't need to think about our own safety anymore, and we don't need to think about what is rite or wrong anymore, we are just cattle being herded along through the carefully fenced cattle yard of life.

FYI there's quite a market for "Cut resistant" gloves. They are essentially armored gloves. I'm not much of a fan of them (little too bulky, can't really feel anything)

I feel that latex gloves are needed in Law enforcement. I have no problem wresting with someone and getting a cold or a flu. Its more for when you are dealing with body fluids, cavities, or patting down addicts that may have needles.

A cold or the flu is ok. HIV, HEP, and MRSA isn't

That is more of a concern for people with children, since the childs immune system is naturally made stronger by contact with germs. I don't think it is so important for adults?

The natural order of things is that children with weak immune systems die off, just ask the early settlers about that! and the children that survive have individual strong immune systems as well as some genetic imune strength to pass on to their children. That is all turned upsideown these days which is good for the individual child but very bad for humanity as a whole over time.
