Noob Q's

I'm considering purchasing Object Desktop but have a few noob questions first. How much hard drive space does it take up on installation? How big is an average suite file? I have a Vista Ultimate Laptop. Do you recommend just windowblinds or is the whole shebang worth the extra $30? Any other suggestions/info would be great. Thanks for your time.

Well it really depends how many components you install. Some people only install a couple, and others install the whole thing.

How big is an average suite file?

A whole suite file could also vary in size. I have seen some just a couple of MB's, and some as big as 30-40 MB's.

Do you recommend just windowblinds or is the whole shebang worth the extra $30?

I think the value of Object Desktop is worth the small investment. You are getting applications such as WindowBlinds, DesktopX, IconPackager, SkinStudio, etc., and to buy each separately would cost much more overall. You also get the benefit of having updates throughout the year and any new software that is added.

I am a cheap bastard but I always find the money to renew year after year. There are no apps in the suite that are not worth the price of admission.

Let me also say . . that once you get hooked, the amount of HD space will cease to matter. If you get so many skins that your drive is full you will first consider a new drive before you consider removing stuff. I'll bet you a dollar today that I'm right one year after you subscribe.

very well worth the $.. of all my purchases over the years, Object Desktop is one of the best. You will get a great return on your investment, with plenty of programs to play with and keep you entertained. Not to mention you can build some really killer desktops.

At a theme park you pay $40 just to get in the door, then when the park closes boom the return on your $$ is over.. but Object Desktop you can come back every day for a full year... (beat that Disneyland

)
