Curtis you have my respect and deepest sympathies - I'm sorry to hear what happened to your boy, no parent should ever have to see their kids get hurt. I'm sure your boy is tough as nails just like you, you guys can be strong for each other and help each other cope.

Absolutely shocking!! My prayers are with you and your son. Coming from Northern Ireland, I grew up with all that violence crap, its like people dont realise OR care of the hurt they inflict on other people, its a ****ing disgrace ..anyways, i hope your son makes a full and speedy recovery.

John, I have worked in law enforcement and security for most of my life. I have helped many victims and also put some pretty bad bastards away behind bars during this time - some, thankfully, will never see the light of day, for the rest of their lives. Just keep you head up and focus your mind on your son and his needs - both physically and mentally - for now. I know it's easy for me to say but put your feelings towards what that idiot did to your son, to one side, and let justice take it's course. Whatever happens to him via the police or courts may not satisfy you or your family but people like him always get their 'come upence' sometime during their lives and I am a firm believer of the saying 'what goes around comes around'. I, too, have children and another one coming in a couple of weeks so I also know how it feels from a parents perspective too.

Just keep you chin up and look after your son and try put any thoughts of revenge out of your head. Take care.

This isn't about me my dear friend. Your family has been dealt an unecessary and rather foul blow! Lots of community members are at you and your son's side right now, thoughts, prayers and blessings!

What I'm getting at here is, I truly know how you feel, not saying that my situation is far worse. I hope to God know one is dealt what happened to my son.

You are 100% correct with wanting to protect your children, and I stand by that 100% dude.

This is a side of me that know one really knows, and I try not to show it. But I deal with these thoughts and memories every single day and never really talked about it.

John, its horrible to hear about it while we on MSN last time, it get worst when I saw that cuts and bruisers on your kid. No kid should go thru that ever. The bright side of this is now your kid will be more careful next time around and I hope that SOB would get what is coming for him soon one way or another.

I'm a single dad with a 12-yr-old daughter and 10-yr-old son. I tend to be overprotective, but at the same time let them go new places without me, with friends and trusted adults.

The bottoms of my feet crawl when I think about someone doing such a thing as this.
