The reason this is posted on General Discussion and not Stardock Support is that this is not about any specific problem that requires help.
I always seem to notice that when ever there is an update, rather beta or not, alot of people have problems with running the particular software package after wards. Their posts always says something like "everything was fine before I updated".
This has got me to thinking and I wonder that if when an upadate is available that somewhere in the process a window pops up and gives you the option to either update (keeping all your setting) or to do a clean install (setting back to default)?
The reasoning for this suggestion is that alot of people do make changes, like moving folders, using different directories and such. Along comes an upadte and it doing it's thing based upon where folders and files should be. You go to start the package to sse what the updates were and it don't work.
Some of the Security software, Zone Alarm for one, that I use offers this option so it's not anything new. Maybe it might help to clear up some problems here.
I'm by no means an expert when it comes to computers, more of an experienced user. I have seen though that most problems that arise can usually be dealt with asking the user "okay, what did you do?".
Lets see some thoughts on this.
