I'm able to successfully export a gadget for the sidebar and it works just fine on the machine I have DesktopX installed on. I'm unable to run the exported sidebar gadget on any other Vista machine - tells me I'm missing the "DesktopX Sidebar-framework".

When 3.5 finally ships will I be able to run exported sidebar gadgets on other (non-DesktopX) machines? Will users be be required to install (and have access to) the "DesktopX Sidebar-framework"? I certainly hope so, when I saw the announcements touting the ability to export to the sidebar I never noticed any disclaimers saying other users of the sidebar gadget would also have to have DesktopX installed. Feeling a little frustrated here.

Any one out there know the scoop?
