IMO money and materialistic gain have nothing to do with Winners & Losers. If you want to know if you're a winner or not, look to family and friends. A winner is gonna have a loving family and friends who can be counted on. That's a winner in LIFE.
If you want to know if you're a loser look to how much importance YOU put on what you have and what YOU WANT others to think about you. You may be a winner at the bank or Walmart of in the mirror, but does that really count?
It is interesting to see people assume that other people think that money makes someone a winner.
I don't think there is anyone who has participated in this thread that thinks that having lots of money qualifies someone as a winner.
When I wrote this (as Draginol) I was very careful to make sure that I didn't imply that money or material gain were qualifiers for being winners. I also was careful not to imply that "success" equates to financial wealth.
Losers, in my experience, always find a reason to fail. As individuals, we define success in different ways. But a loser will look at someone they deem as successful and rather than try to learn from them, they will come up with excuses that prevent them from becoming successful.
For instance, a loser might define success as being able to complete a 10 mile run. But they would, even if they had no physical handicaps, find excuses as to why they couldn't do a 10 mile run.
