Hi ...
I just downloaded the public version of TweakVista hoping to give it a try.
While everything installed correctly and the program "runs", this is bound to be the most feature-limited shareware product I've ever seen. You guys have restricted the public/trial version to the point that it is utterly useless.
I realize that I'm a power user and this product is probably intended for users of all kind, but the features enabled in the public/trial version are SO SO SO basic, those are pretty much things I did within 20 minutes of a Vista install and are easily accomplished from the Welcome Center (and are not even hard to find or use in the Control Panel).
Your public/trial version would be much more effective if it timed-out and reverted your choices back to their original settings after 30 days! At least then everyone would have the opportunity to give the program a whirl, see if the changes and convenience are worth the pricetag.
I hear there is a competing product that has a limited feature set that truly digs deep into settings that aren't so easy to change from the standard Vista controls. I've been told to hold off using that product until they get a few of the rough edges worked out ... so maybe that will give you some time to reconsider such drastic limitations in your trial product.
On a scale of 1 to 10, I give the trial version a 2. It looks like it may have the potential to be an 8 or 9. But I wouldn't bother distributing the trial version in it's current state. It leaves a very bad impression for potential buyers.
Not that it counts, but that's my opinion.
