I know it's old and I know that there are supposed to be wonderful new things out there but they don't do what I want them to (at least I can't get them to).
I'm in the middle of a rebuild, my old system has a running version of Control Centre 1.92 (the last build that I liked). Stardock central for some reason thinks 1.95 is installed (when they added support for the virtual screen gadget things).
Now I've got a new OS built, I have the old 1.92 files but starting it gives an initialisation error and produces a weird window which seems to have lost it's virtual screens. This happens if I start it from the original place on the C drive or the new place on the P drive (boot drive is now the E drive).
The reason I like 1.92 is the locked windows, I have 2 monitors, this allows me to lock the TV, baseball match or whatever else I'm keeping an eye on on the second monitor and it follows me as I wander round the virtual screens on the first monitor. Incredibly useful. It also means I can start a load of apps in the start folder and I'll find them neatly arranged where I want them.
Any ideas gratefully received, I can't find any virtual screen programme which works as well (from my point of view and I've tried a LOT over the last few days). All the fancy stuff on the new VD may look good and may be very clever but they don't do what I need.
It's most frustrating.
