Try this
Go to start Menu
Click on RUN
type in MSNCONFIG click OK (a new window will pop up)
on the tabs at the top, click on STARTUP
in the List look for "HID compliant mouse" (Note it may not say "HID compliant mouse" )
and then un-check it this will stop it from loading at start up..
IF you have a program called MSCOMFIG clean-up use it, If not it is a good one to have
and with out it the programs that you stop from starting up on start up can come back some times.

look for it in SERVICES that is the tab before STARTUP.. and UN-check it.
NOTE; before doing any thing in the SERVICES do a System restore Point.
how to get to System restore to make a restore Point
Click on the Start menu then Click on ALL PROGRAMS
look for Accessories ( hover over it and it will open or just click on it)
then look for System Tools then click on System Restore (new window will open)
then Click on CREATE A RESTORE POINT then just follow instructions..
