Hmmm, interesting that you can find alot of new skins being made, that although not specificly made for Vista, will run on it. Take alook at reply #264, seems to work. What might be the limitation.


If I wanted to use XP based skins I'd use XP, not Vista. There are certain elements that look ugly as it is with WB6 (thumbnail previews, volume mouseover, system clock), I don't really need to add onto it.

You arent seeing the explorer (unskinned, ugly) and IE (default tabs, yeah they fit well).

Yeah it looks nice with a taskbar, start menu and window frame, but you don't see anything else there do you?

Fact is.. most all skins will run on vista.. few will look good if not designed for and very few are 100 % Vista skinned.

Regardless, this isn't really the thread to keep this discussion going...

Folks on XP OR Vista should check out Slider on Maxstyles.com... One of the most creative skins ever made for WB.

This skin looks sweet on Vista as you can see in my earlier post. I see no limitations in it at all. If you want your Vista to look stock, then what are you doing at Wincustomize?
Why don't you go to Maxstyles, download the demo and see if you like it? Then, if you don't like the looks of it you can delete it and at least say you gave it an honest try.
Personally, I will buy it the day it is released.

I do think that the XP in the name tends to concern Vista owners a tad. I suggest dropping the XP and just call it Slider. Just a suggestion.

Look a that, the tabs in IE are flat out ugly, the nav bar is bright green and you cant even read the text on the folder location, what is acceptable to you clearly is not to me.

Oh and I don't mean that part of the sound, click on the icon, not only does it have a nice big black like to the right of the trackbar but their is no frame around it like Aero has.

I have tried it, downloaded it when the new version was up, it was applied a whole 3 seconds.
And I agree with you, his other recent theme is named Knot Vista too. We get it, you don't like Vista.

First, click on the yellow bar to open it in it's own window, then you have to click on the picture to bring it to the correct size. The screen is in 1680x1050 and is probably larger then your resolution hince the garbled text.

The colors are of my choice and is not the default colors of the blind.

Yes that was well established, im simply saying that I do not find what im seeing here to be acceptable, especially for a blind thats going to be payware. Perhaps for XP users it is, I just don't get why people use "20% of people who come here use Vista" as an excuse. People have posted the numbers of visitors and 20% isnt exactly tiny.

Til SKS 6 is out of beta AND works well...I'm just making XP versions.This skin AND Knot Vista will eventually have fully tweaked Vista versions.
Until then I am sorry to disappoint Vista users,any appearance of Vista compatibility is just luck.  
Even if I personally think Vista is awful(skinned or unskinned),dosnt mean I dont see the eventual need to begin including it.For now,the amount of users and the state of SKS make it unappealing.  

I'll get there eventually.  Some day that start menu will say Slider Vista.  

No need to jump on him guys...he's a Vista user and he's not interested.Not a prob.I appreciate the support but trying to convince him to use the XP version on Vista is wrong...he's correct...it dosnt(couldnt)truly look good there.(yet)

mine say: Slider veesta.. ..oops.. i see, this veesta sub release date: 2107
and fully wb107 compatible..

I would like to show my appreciation to IR - as, I am sure a lot of us do , for sharing this
fantastic piece of Craftmanship as it is being made...

It has been a good experience/lesson for me - as I am not too good in the world of Graphic Manipulation .. and IR has graciously allowed us into his world , a little ...

Such a gesture , even for a project like this deserves my applause anytime ...

I , for one , will be one of the first in the queue when SLIDER goes officially public ...

The most innovative, imaginative and truly creative skin I've seen in awhile and I'm standing in line for it too. Can't wait to use it and a great big congrats in advance for what's sure to be a legendary skin!

wow...those are some very strong accolades...I'm almost speecless,but I'm not much fer speachafyin'...thanks guys.

I'm just sorry I drug you all thru this fer so long.Between health issues and this ornery skin and WB,I took WAY longer than I ever planned.Just toolbar icons left and I'm done.
