Have you ever seen a recommended resolution of 1600x180? Of course not.
So why do you invent such a rediculous argument?
It uses exactly the mathematics/reasoning in your 'blog'
1600 IS divisible evenly by 16
and 180 is divisible equally by 9 therefore it is a 16:9 format....
That is a direct quote of your math....exaggerated to show its error.

1440/900 does NOT equate to a ratio of 16/9
It is a ratio, plain and simple....divide the height by 9 and multiply by 16 and you get the width.
Any number that does NOT result using that math is NOT 16/9.
The 16 equal parts horiz and 9 equal parts vert MUST, that is MUST be the same 'parts', otherwise it is NOT a ratio at all of 16/9.
If your 'training in video production' has led you to your error I'd very STRONGLY suggest you request a refund for that training, as it is flawed....
1440/900 is actually 14.4 to 9 ...
