Hi,
how do I ensure that the default z-order for gadgets is "Always on top"?
I doesn't matter at all what state the object/widget has - as soon as I export it as gadget it changes to "normal."
Problem here is that the last active state seems to be stored in the registry - so I thought I had fixed the problem already, but it was simply using an old value. If I change the id of the gadget it will be "normal" again.
If this can't be done - is there a way to use the default properties dialog for a gadget and make sure that changing the z-order doesn't quit the application? I had to disable pretty much all options because they seem to quit/ crash the gadget randomly.
I removed the z-order from the properties, because it seems they don't actually work. For example choosing "desktop level" and then pressing win-d to see the desktop will hide the widgets. Which makes it more like "pretty much at the bottom of the z-order but not at on the desktop."
While I understand that this might technically be what "desktop level" means, it's not what all users testing the widget had expected.
So, here are my compiled questions
- How do I ensure that the z-order options for the object I want to export are the current options of the exported object?
- Why does changing the z-order in the default dialog of an exported gadget quit the program? Is there a way to ensure it continues running or at least restarts?
- Is it a known bug that using the default properties might quit/crash the exported gadget. Esp. the Hue-Slider seems to kill the gadget without much effort.
Best regards,
